For more than 37 years, United Progress, Inc. (UPI) has been working to alleviate poverty and empower low-income and working poor families living in the City of Trenton and Mercer County. UPI started the Henry J. Austin Health Center, Trenton Head Start
Program and the first alcoholism treatment program in the City of Trenton. In the recent years, UPI has made great strides in improving the quality and scope of its services. Today’s UPI has a new paradigm for a new millennium in which a holistic approach to service delivery has been adopted. We are more than social service providers, social workers, and case managers.
Instead, we are agents for change in transforming families’ lives by empowering them with the information and skills needed to remove barriers to self-sufficiency. While we still provide emergency services, our goal is to help address the issues that necessitated the emergency assistance.
