Intensive Outpatient Group Hours are from: 9AM - 12PM 
Intensive Outpatient Evening Group Hours are from:  5PM - 8PM
Partial Care group hours are:  9AM - 2PM


Employment counseling includes skills and work assessment, resume preparation and development, interview skills, job workshop and training referrals, computer classes and job placement. UPI also provides assistance in retaining their positions and offers a large network of local employers.


Social services at UPI are provided by or under the direct supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Counseling, crisis intervention and long term therapeutic counseling are provided, as well as educational workshops on nutrition, health, mental health, social welfare, legal issues, budgeting, finance, and parenting skills. In addition, Post TANF case managers advise eligible clients of transitional assistance programs available and assists clients in maintaining employment.

Community Organization and Outreach

UPI collaborates with other community groups, organizations and government agencies to develop programs that empower neighborhoods and facilitate community involvement. Community needs assessment, technical assistance, cultural awareness and sensitivity workshops are just a few of UPI's community outreach activities

Emergency Programs

Emergency assistance in basic needs such as food and clothing is always available at UPI. Supplemental, rather than emergency, food packages has become a monthly staple. A registered dietitian conducts nutrition workshops and counsels clients on how to create nutritionally balanced diets with supporting recipes and food items. UPI's comprehensive alcohol and substance abuse treatment program is located at 56 Escher Street in Trenton. The treatment center offers partial care and intensive outpatient treatment services to low-income and uninsured chronic substance abusers living in Mercer County. Nutritious meals are served daily. HIV/AIDS education, counseling and case management are also available.
